The Brazelton / Gomes-Pedro Foundation for the Sciences of Baby and Family (BGP Foundation), is a private non-profit Foundation created on March 1, 2010 and recognized by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers on July 30, 2010.

The founders are the Pediatricians Berry Brazelton and João Gomes-Pedro. The main activities of the BGP Foundation are Training and Research.

The innovation nature of its purpose is based on a main proposal to reform traditional clinical concepts regarding the approach to Babies, Children, Youth and their Families, focusing on strengthening the bonds, and ensuring the identification of both individual and group resilience.

We believe that our vision, inspired by the Honorary President of the Foundation - Prof Emeritus T. Berry Brazelton - can motivate young and likewise experienced professionals, from different areas, to pursue their scientific and clinical investment in early childhood.

Although a recent Foundation, this is a project with more than 40 years of scientific, educational and clinical intervention accomplished by many of those that deal today with the Baby and the Family Sciences in Portugal and in the World and who, like us, believe that this is the path to achieve happiness and well-being for our Babies and for their Families.

This is what moves us.
